Paytm Payments Bank: RBI’s new instructions! This work must be done before March 15th. Must see if you have paytm account

Paytm Payments Bank: Hey there, banking buddies! Big news from Paytm Payments Bank: they’ve extended the deadline for some transactions, giving us more breathing room. Now, we’ve got until March 15, 2024, to handle our banking business without stress.

So, what’s the deal? Originally, we had until February 29, 2024, to do things like depositing money, withdrawing cash, or topping up our accounts. But thanks to the RBI’s decision, we’ve got an extra couple of weeks to get it all sorted.

Paytm Payments Bank is probably not complying with all the norms, which is probably why such action has been taken by RBI. But don’t worry – RBI has stepped in and clarified things by guiding us through some FAQs.

All you need to know if you have a paytm account

1. Manage Your Account:

Keep using your account as usual until March 15, 2024. Need to withdraw cash or transfer funds? Go for it – as long as you’ve got money in there, of course. Your debit card still works too.

2. Current Account Holders:

After March 15, 2024, no more deposits into your Paytm Payments Bank account, unless it’s stuff like interest, cashback, or refunds from partner banks.

3. Refunds and Credits:

Even after March 15, 2024, refunds, cashbacks, and other credits from partner banks are still good to go.

4. Salary and Government Cash:

Plan ahead if you usually get your salary or government payments deposited into your Paytm Payments Bank account. After March 15, 2024, you’ll need to switch things up.

5. Bill Payments and Subscriptions:

From March 15, 2024, you’ll need to find another way to pay your electric bill or OTT subscriptions. Same goes for loan interests and EMIs – Paytm Payments Bank won’t handle those anymore.

6. Wallet Wisdom:

After March 15, 2024, you won’t be able to load up your Paytm Payments Bank wallet or transfer funds to it. But if you want to close your wallet and move the balance elsewhere, you can do that through the app.
